A kitchen is the most electrically demanding room in most homes, so getting the wiring right before the units go in saves a lot of compromise later. This guide covers what to plan for.
Sockets and appliance circuits
Think about where worktop appliances will live and add more sockets than you think you need. Larger appliances such as ovens and induction hobs usually need their own dedicated circuits, which we plan at first fix.
Lighting that works
Layered lighting — ceiling, under-cabinet and a feature pendant over an island — makes a kitchen far more usable than a single ceiling light. We set the positions out with you before any cable is run.
First fix and second fix
At first fix we run the cabling while the walls are open; at second fix, once the units and worktops are in, we fit the accessories and test everything before sign-off.
