Installing a home charge point is usually a half-day job, but a good install starts before any cable is run. This guide explains what we check, what you choose, and what a typical 7kW home EV charger installation looks like.

The load assessment

Every install begins with a check of your existing supply and consumer unit to confirm the property can support a dedicated charging circuit. Where load management is needed, modern chargers can balance demand automatically so your main fuse is never overloaded.

Cable routing and the charge point

We agree the neatest practical route from the board to the charger position, fit the unit, and add the correct protection. Most homeowners choose a tethered or untethered 7kW unit depending on how they park.

Grants and certification

We will tell you whether your property qualifies for any current grant funding, and every install is notified and certified on completion.
