Four reasons homeowners, landlords and local businesses across Norfolk trust us with their air conditioning installation and servicing.
Unlike many AC-only companies, we are fully qualified NAPIT-registered electricians as well as F-Gas certified AC engineers. Full electrical work handled in-house.
Every system we install provides both cooling in summer and efficient heat-pump heating in winter, offering year-round comfort from a single unit.
We work with leading manufacturers including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Samsung and LG, and recommend the right system for your space, budget and usage.
All our engineers hold current F-Gas certification: a legal requirement for anyone handling refrigerant gases. Your installation will be fully compliant with UK regulations.
What we do
From first install to annual servicing, we cover everything domestic and commercial clients need across Norwich and Norfolk.

Full design, supply and installation of split-system and multi-split air conditioning for homes and businesses across Norwich and Norfolk.

Annual servicing to keep your system running efficiently. Prevents breakdowns and extends the lifespan of your air conditioning.

If your air conditioning is not performing as it should, whether it is not cooling properly, making noises or showing error codes, we will diagnose and fix it.

We install and maintain commercial air conditioning for offices, retail units, restaurants, pubs, salons, clinics, server rooms and other commercial premises in Norwich.
A modern air conditioning unit is essentially a heat pump. In summer it moves heat from inside your room to the outside, cooling the space. In winter, it reverses the process, drawing heat from outside and pumping it indoors.
This makes air conditioning remarkably efficient. For every 1 kW of electricity a heat-pump unit uses, it can deliver 3 to 5 kW of heating or cooling energy. Compared with a plug-in electric heater (which delivers just 1 kW of heat per 1 kW of electricity), air conditioning can cut your running costs significantly for the rooms where it is installed.
It is worth noting that air conditioning is not a replacement for your central heating system in most UK homes, but it is an excellent supplement, particularly for rooms that are hard to heat: home offices, conservatories, extensions and bedrooms where you want precise temperature control.
The process
A typical domestic air conditioning installation from Hethersett Electrical includes the following:
An initial survey of your property to assess the space, insulation, sun exposure, and the best locations for indoor and outdoor units.
A detailed written quote covering the system, installation and any electrical work required, with no hidden extras.
Supply of the indoor unit(s) and outdoor condenser unit from a leading manufacturer chosen to suit your space and budget.
All electrical work, including a dedicated circuit from your consumer unit if required, carried out by our in-house NAPIT electricians.
Installation of refrigerant pipework, drainage, and any necessary cable containment, routed discreetly.
Full commissioning, performance testing, and setup of remote controls or smart app features.
Registration of the manufacturer's warranty, typically five years on parts.
A walkthrough of how to use the system, including heating mode, cooling mode, timer settings and any smart controls.
Free, no-obligation survey and fixed quote anywhere in Norwich, Norfolk and South Norfolk.

FAQs
We install and service air conditioning systems across Norwich, Hethersett, Wymondham, Cringleford, Costessey, Attleborough, Long Stratton and surrounding areas in Norfolk. For commercial projects, we cover the whole of Norfolk and parts of Suffolk.
Most domestic single-room (single-split) installations start from around £1,800 to £2,500 including the unit, fitting and certification. The final price depends on the system size, the number of rooms, pipe runs and any electrical work needed. We always provide a clear written fixed quote after a free survey, so there are no surprises.
No. Because a modern unit is a heat pump, it delivers three to five times more heating or cooling energy than the electricity it uses, making it very efficient. Running costs depend on how often you use it and your electricity tariff, but cooling a typical room costs only a few pence per hour.
In most cases no. For the majority of houses, air conditioning falls under permitted development provided the outdoor unit is sited sensibly and within size limits. Listed buildings, flats and conservation areas can have additional restrictions, and we will advise you on this during the survey.
Modern systems are very quiet. Indoor units typically run at around 19 to 30 decibels on low fan speed, quieter than a library, and outdoor units are designed to keep noise to a minimum. We position both units carefully to keep any sound well away from living spaces and neighbours.
Yes. Most systems include washable filters that capture dust, pollen and other airborne particles as they circulate the air, and many offer additional filtration options. Keeping the filters clean with regular servicing helps maintain healthier, fresher air indoors.
Very little day to day, beyond rinsing the indoor filters every few weeks. We recommend an annual service to clean the system, check refrigerant levels and keep it running efficiently. Regular servicing also protects your manufacturer's warranty and extends the lifespan of the system.
Absolutely. Garden rooms and garden offices are one of our most common installation settings. They often overheat in summer and can be difficult to heat in winter. A compact wall-mounted air conditioning unit solves both problems in one.
